What are they and how do they work?
Honda Generators in the EU range are inverter generators. This means that they produce 'Pure Sinewave', which is basically 'Clean Power' such as an AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator.) This makes these generators suitable for sensitive equipment such as TV's and computers.
Honda Generators in the EU range have a device on them called an Eco Throttle. Other generators that are found on the market are either ON or OFF. The Eco throttle is a load dependant speed setting that slows down the revs of the engine to provide you with just the power that you need. Therefore, this switch will save you on your fuel costs as the engine is not working as hard as it can all the time. Also this results in less ware and tear on the engine and will reduce the volume that comes from the generator, some of which can be around 49 dBA.

We talk about many kinds of polution these days but noise pollution is one that isn't always first on peoples minds. The Honda EU range are some of the quietest generators that can be found on the market.
Noise levels are expressed as Lwa ( this is a European standard ) and dB(A) - decibels - which is an English and American standard.
Noise is not measured on a linear/straight line scale - noise levels double every 3-5 dB(A)
So 73/75 dB(A) is twice as loud as 70 dB(A) or two 70 dB(A) units running together would produce between 73 and 75 dB(A)
Current standards allow employees to work in 85 dB(A) for up to eight hours
Human speach is around 54 to 56 dBA depending on how loud a persona generaly talks. With this in mind it is easy to see that when a Honda generator is producing around 52 dB(A) at 3/4 load it is comfitable to have one of these next to you while you continue to do your daily activities in peace.
